Different Aspects Of Criminal Justice - 914 Words
Reflection This course has exposed me to many different aspects of criminal justice. It has allowed me to develop a deeper knowledge of how and why things are done within the criminal justice field. The assignments have been beneficial to increasing my knowledge and relating criminal justice to Biblical principles. This paper will discuss those Biblical principles, as well as my personal perspective of the law enforcement, court, and correctional sub-systems of criminal justice. Biblical Principles Law Enforcement Sub-System Law enforcement professionals must act with integrity (Hendrix, 2013). Acting with integrity will ensure the approval of God. This is reiterated in Romans when it says, ââ¬Å"For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive His approvalâ⬠(Romans 13:3, English Standard Version). Law enforcement officials have the power to stop evil and have been commanded by God to accomplish this task. Although they cannot remove evil, they can confine evil (Fischer, 2015). However, while in the process of confining evil, it is important that the official remember that violence and brutality will not be tolerated. Just as the police have the right to arrest the public, they also have the right to arrest their fellow officers for doing things outside of the law. Courts Sub-System Government is a necessity (Fischer, 2015).
